Hi, I’m Çiğdem Şimşirli.

Alfaritmi is a name I gave myself after a childhood illness — a name that slowly turned into a world of its own over the years. I’ve been drawing since I can remember, and since 2015, I’ve been sharing my illustrations online.

I graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Communication, with a degree in Communication Sciences. For 7 years, I worked professionally in digital marketing while continuing my art practice. Art was always with me, even during those busy years. In 2021, after moving to the Netherlands, I decided to give my full focus to my creative work.

The world of Alfaritmi mostly revolves around geese — curious little characters with their own personalities. But they’re not alone. From time to time, other animals show up too, and they all live in a world where animals dress like us, celebrate birthdays, drink coffee, and just go about their day like tiny people.

While animal characters are at the heart of what I do, sometimes I like to explore other things — different drawing styles, human figures, or custom illustrations. You’ll see both hand-drawn and digital work here, all connected by a quiet kind of storytelling.
